Performance Guidelines
Young Musicians of Westchester (YMW) provides a platform for talented young musicians to share their artistry through free community concerts. If you’re interested in performing, please review the guidelines below before submitting your application.
Who Can Apply?
Musicians between the ages of 18-30
Solo performers, chamber ensembles, jazz groups, vocalists, brass ensembles, and international music artists
Current students or graduates of music programs
What We Need from You
To be considered, please provide:
Performer Details: Your name, ensemble name (if applicable), and the names/instruments of all musicians
Educational Background: Where you are currently studying or have graduated from
Bio & Goals: A brief introduction about yourself and what you hope to achieve in the coming years
Program Information: A list of pieces you plan to perform (even if tentative)
Performance Videos: Links to past performances, preferably of your ensemble performing together
Upcoming Recitals or Performances: If applicable
Performance & Venue Details
Most concerts are held in ADA-compliant venues with suitable pianos available
We provide music stands, power cords, and at least one handheld microphone
We do not provide amps or other specialized equipment
Most venues have space for cases, coats, and belongings
Audience Engagement
Performers are expected to introduce themselves and their music
Audience members include adults and families with children, especially at library concerts
We encourage musicians to engage with attendees after the performance
